Lecturer 01: Steven Bridges
With over 20million views on YouTube and a consultant to several hit films, Steven Bridges is a professional magician, often to be found on the streets of London, wowing crowds as a busker. In this lecture, he’ll reveal the secrets!
Lecturer 02: Craig Petty
Kicked out of the Magic Circle for breaking the code, Craig isn’t what you’d call an ‘average entertainer’. Craig’s skills haven’t gone unnoticed. In 2009 he was described by Magic Week (one of the top magicians’ journals) as the greatest living coin manipulator in Europe! Now, he’s here to teach some hard-hitting, commercial magic.
Lecturer 03: Harry Robson
Anyone who has seen Harry work will know why he is know as a magician at the very top of his profession. Fast-paced, funny and very skilled, you’re in for a laugh a minute with Harry, who is widely acknowledged as being one of the best close-up magicians performing today.
Lecturer 04: Richard Cadell (& Sooty!)
Sooty has been a magical institution for the last 70 years, most recently under the direction and ownership of Richard Cadell. I’m delighted that Richard will be joining us to tell the full story in this emotional, powerful and enlightening presentation. Sooty has had an amazing journey, as you’ll find out for yourself.
Lecturer 05: Brian Sefton
Presenting his lecture ‘Tips on Manips’, Brian will share the inside secrets of his manipulation act which has entertained thousands of people over the decades and teach the techniques that he uses to create these visual on-stage miracles!
Lecturer 06: Roy Field
Many households over the years possessed books and magazines on the art of ‘home entertainment’, teaching how to entertain your guests with a magic show. Roy will give a lightening tour of sources that have existed or still exist so that these new amateurs could do magic to impress their family and friends and maybe become ‘a social success’.
Lecturer 07: Alan Maskell
Alan Maskell has been involved in magic for over 40 years, during which time he has performed for audiences of all ages and in a wide range of situations and venues: from close-up at The Dorchester to stand-up in Covent Garden, from Cambridge Colleges to Centre Parcs, from The Magic Circle stage to children's magic in a front room to schools and village halls and wizarding in a forest to magic in the pub and the occasional radio and television appearance. A Member of The Inner Magic Circle Alan was responsible for laying the groundwork for The Young Magicians Club. Alan has lectured for a number of years both on his own and also with Chris Wardle, a fellow member of The Pentacle Club, and their unique joint lecture is a format that has proved very popular over the years. This presentation will include performing for, and bringing magic to, children of all ages and in different situations.
